PURPOSE:
The Gen Giammanco Foundation provides financial support to deserving college-bound student-athletes who exhibit the passion and commitment to achieve their dreams of both scholastic and athletic success.
CRITERIA & GUIDELINES:
Scholarship or Award Criteria
1. The scholarship recipient(s) should be chosen based on the applicant’s:
• Participation in high school team sports
• Intent on playing on a college sports team
• Documented financial need
• Two letters of recommendation (one from a teacher, one from a coach)
2. The applicant must:
• Be a graduating high school senior in Monterey County
3. To claim the award funds, the winning student must:
• Enroll in an accredited school of higher education (2-year or a 4-year)
• As a full-time student
• Award is contingent on the student athlete becoming a member of a NCAA or NAIA collegiate athletic team.
• By Fall (or) Spring semester after receiving the award
• Send the Claim Form provided by CFMC along with official proof of his or her enrollment, and the letter verifying participation in an athletic team to the Community Foundation
AMOUNT:
Each GGF Award will be a minimum of $1,000.

The application deadline is March 16th of the current application year. The deadline is the date after which applications will no longer be accepted. The Gen Giammanco Foundation uses the date emails are sent to determine the date of submission.
